Dr. Mark Voeller is a senior advisor and associate partner at Cambridge Advisors to Family Enterprise, a highly specialized international advisory firm serving family enterprises. Cambridge Advisorsand Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, an education and research institute, are divisions of Cambridge Family Enterprise Group, a global organization founded in 1989. It is devoted to helping families achieve multigenerational success for their families, enterprises, and financial wealth.

Active in the family business field for over 25 years, Dr. Voeller advises families that own domestic and international enterprises from a variety of industries, and of all sizes. He assists them in addressing their relationship, governance and succession issues to achieve business continuity and family harmony across generations. He specializes in succession planning, career development for family and non-family managers, management team building, conflict management and communication, and preparation of heirs for wealth and ownership. He guides business owners to identify their values, mission and vision for their companies, and designs and facilitates governance structures for family governance and ownership governance.

Dr. Voeller has facilitated and guest lecturerin Harvard Business School’s “Families in Business: From Generation to Generation” program, a six-day executive program that examines pivotal issues facing family businesses. He teaches family dynamics, leadership development, generational transitions and governance at workshops and conferences around the world.

Dr. Voeller has authored several articles in addition to his book, Exit Right: A Guide to Succession Planning for Families-In-Business-Together(Summit Run, Inc., 2002). He authored the chapter, “Keys to Successful Mentoring” in The Family Business Mentoring Handbook(Family Business Publishing Company), and the article, “Developing Productive and Competent Offspring in Families of Wealth” in Family Business Magazine.

Dr. Voeller has served on the Board of Directors of the Family Firm Institute (FFI), the preeminent association for family enterprise professionals, and as chair of FFI’s Body of Knowledge Committee, where he was responsible for disseminating FFI’s intellectual capital and their inter-disciplinary approach to advising family enterprise. He has been named a fellow of the Family Firm Institute, and holds a certificate in family business advising.

Dr. Voeller earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and his M.A. from Wake Forest University.
