Alan F. Heath is a senior advisor and associate partner at Cambridge Advisors to Family Enterprise, a highly specialized international advisory firm serving family enterprises. Cambridge Advisors and Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, an education and research institute, are divisions of Cambridge Family Enterprise Group, a global organization founded in 1989. It is devoted to helping families achieve multigenerational success for their families, enterprises, and financial wealth.

Mr. Heath specializes in family and business governance, succession, coaching, mentoring, and exit strategies. He is a facilitator and guest lecturer at Harvard Business School’s “Families in Business: From Generation to Generation” program, a six-day executive program that examines pivotal issues facing family businesses.

Mr. Heath has been working with families in business, CEOs, and top management teams for nearly thirty years as both an advisor and an executive, bringing practical, firsthand experience to his consulting engagements. While he now works almost exclusively as an outside advisor to family businesses, Mr. Heath has years of executive suite experience in a number of industries, including as president of a multinational vending machine manufacturing company and as vice president of marketing for an $8.8B food packaging corporation. Additionally, he has served as a director of a number of privately held family companies. Mr. Heath has frequently acted as an interim officer in companies with which he has consulted, holding positions such as COO, senior managing director, and vice president. Building on a career in global business, Mr. Heath regularly works with families not only in the U.S.but also in Latin America and throughout the world. Mr. Heath has served for a number of years as an independent, personal, lead trustee for several large multiple-family trusts.

Mr. Heath received J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law and aB.A. in Political Science and Economics from Kalamazoo College. He completed post-graduate work in finance at Western Michigan University. He also serves on the Alumni Board of the University of Colorado School of Law. He is a certificate holder in family business advising from the Family Firm Institute and is a member of the Collaboration for Family Flourishing–an organization dedicated to collecting, sharing,and developing ideas that promote the prospering of families.
